Hot on the heels of the February podcast… I’ve been hoping to bring the publish date forward a little on these monthly mixes and I am springing forward in March because I got a bit over excited about all the music I had around me.

I’ve always had a massive amount of love for the many varied forms of music around Africa but this is probably the first time I’ve gone into that properly on this podcast.

Here there is music from Mali, South Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana and music from around the world that has been inspired by these countries and more.

There is music old and new here – I’ve been DJing a lot recently so I wanted to get stuck into a proper dance floor mix like the ones I have been playing out. So I hope you will appreciate my first proper DJ mix in AGES!

This is a special 2009 round up, with quite a mixture of tracks for your listening pleasure. It’s not a best of as such, simply recalling big tunes from this year, new, old or other that have meant something. It’s a bit longer than usual to squeeze everything in but I’ve tried to keep it to the right size for those of you who burn off a copy for the car…

I’ve loved this year, I’ve enjoyed making these podcasts for you and I’m really pleased I’m doing them monthly now too. There should be some specials coming up in the new year as well as the usual stuff from me.
