It's an exciting day - it's my album launch.
We have a big old party planned for tonight and I've been warming up my vocals already. A couple more little Ableton adjustments before the show and we're ready to go.
I didn't want to go up there tonight though without making sure everyone could grab a copy of the album when they got home (if they didn't at the time of course). So I've been beavering away to get the pre-order setup done - and it is.

Digitally speaking of course.
If you were not aware, and you will be readily forgiven for not knowing, I have a single out this week. It's the first from new album The Hollow, it features the glorious pipes of Faye Houston and the single itself features an additional treat or two too.
But I was most amused (and incredibly grateful of course) to see last night that I've been popped up on the iTunes UK R&B/Soul home page next to vocal, close harmony legends Boys II Men. So here it is, the hardest one so far. Although I put that down to the fact that I am 4 days from my album deadline. I have spent the last few days doing everything necessary to get the album ready.
I'm now down to going through systematically tweaking each track in turn, mixing down, going off for a listen, making notes, coming back and going through each one again. Yesterday I got through half way. But that was 10pm in the end. So I didn't start on this Postcard til 10.30pm.
And boy did I struggle with it. I ended up using some footage that I wasn't expecting too. but at 3am it was getting...

The last two weeks have been immense. So much happening at once, a whirlwind of deadlines, pressure levels have been at a 2011 high.
Last weekend I turned 33 and my Nan turned 80, so I had a day or two off. Which was lovely, seeing family, eating, drinking. In some ways it was perfectly timed, in other ways, it was a bad time for a break. No regrets of course. On Tuesday I handed over all the parts for the first single from The Hollow.
